A study done by Iranian urologists demonstrated that treatment with saffron (50mg dissolved in milk three times per week) was effective in improving two key problem areas that affect male fertility. Interestingly, while saffron didn’t seem to improve sperm count at all, it did improve the quality and the motility of the study participants’ sperm—meaning that the sperm would stand a better chance of successfully fertilizing an egg cell.
Further studies are planned, but if you’d like to try saffron as a fertility aid, it certainly won’t hurt you, and it just might do the trick!
